Life On The Last Frontier

Hello All,

Where do I start? I love Alaska, what a wonderful state. It can even be a state of mind if you so like? I live in Southeast Alaska in the city borough of Juneau. I live about 5 miles from the Mendenhall Glacier and just below Thunder Mountain.
This is rain forest county but it does get cold and snows/rain a lot in winter.
The wildlife is abundent and for the most part roam free even in town. Eagles are everywhere and are great to watch fish in the bay.
I work for MAPTS/UAS as an instructor for their Safety and Health programs, such as mining, both surface and underground blasting, safe equipment operation and CPR/1st aid. I am a Mine Safety and Health Administration Instructor.
I haven't always lived in Alaska. I spent my youth in Tolleson Arizona and Craig/Paonia Colorado. Colorado is my second love as far as places to live.
Some of my fondest memories are of living in Paonia and running the Rocky Mountains. I spent a great deal of time fishing, hunting and camping there. I had some great friends there as well as meeting my first wife in that little town below the big white P.
I write children's books as well and have three books published at this time. I love kids and have always loved to tell stories to folks of all ages.
I write poetry about live's adventures, love, breakups, mountains, prospecting, and just life in general. I will add some excerpts of both as time and life allows.
